Congratulations to Nino Ontoy who won bronze in the U30 Category at the World Poomsae Taekwondo Championships 2024. 18 year old Nino, won Great Britain's first ever medal in the U30 category at a World Championships.
Nino was selected to represent Great Britain at the 2024 World Poomsae Championships in Hong Kong in August 2024. Poomsae is a non - combative and highly competitive aspect of the martial arts. Nino took up the sport when he was 5 years old and he claimed a gold medal at the International Open Poomsae Taekwondo Championships in London.
We are extremely proud to have provided travel assistance for Nino and his family through our Manx Community Assistance Scheme The goal of the scheme is to support good causes and to ensure smooth and reliable travel for local initiatives that aim to improve the quality of life of island residents.
Our Manx Community Assistance (MCA) scheme is one of our key initiatives where we provide travel assistance, charity vouchers, or sponsorship for a variety of events, groups, and individuals travelling to and from the Isle of Man for sporting, educational, and cultural activities.
