Local performers lead festive panto cast

22/10/2019

This year’s Christmas pantomime will feature two of the Island’s top theatre talents.

Peter Pan, which is being sponsored by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, is also being billed as the ‘biggest pantomime ever staged in the Isle of Man’, by producers.

Matthew Chase – who was born and raised in the Island – will play the role of Peter, the boy who refuses to grow up. Matthew is currently living and working in London.

Another Manx performer and a graduate of the London School of Musical Theatre, Georgia Maddocks, will also return to tread the boards at the Gaiety Theatre as Wendy.

The show is being produced by Liverpool-based Shone Productions. Managing Director, James Shone, says ticket holders are in for a real treat.

He explained: ‘As well as having an awesome cast, the show will feature spectacular scenery, dazzling costumes, amazing 3D effects and lots of audience participation.

‘We’re grateful to the Steam Packet Company for its assistance with the transportation of props and staging, and hope to see lots of locals coming along to enjoy the show!’

Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward added: ‘We’re pleased to sponsor this year’s pantomime, which is always very popular with local families. They’re performed to such a high standard, and it’s great to see two locals leading the cast.’

Peter Pan will run from Saturday 21st December until Saturday 4th January 2020. Tickets are on sale now and available from the Villa Marina box office or online at www.villagaiety.com.
