Work continues to progress on the Manxman, with several key milestones achieved over the past week. Now into her second week in dry dock, significant progress has been made on the newly refurbished shafts, alongside planned maintenance and refurbishment works across the vessel.
Specialist contractor Marine Shaft has completed all machining work on the bearing carriers and has carried out additional alignment checks. Contractors have also confirmed that work has commenced on the bearings and that delivery remains on schedule. Once the components arrive, work can begin on the vessel's port-side propulsion system.
While preparations continue for this phase of the project, a number of other maintenance tasks have been progressing across the vessel. Repainting work on the starboard side is nearing completion, with only the vessel lettering remaining to be finished. Onboard, Car Deck 3 has been successfully recoated, with work scheduled to move onto Deck 5 next.
The dry dock programme remains focused on ensuring the long-term reliability and performance of Manxman, with work continuing across multiple areas of the vessel.
