An acclaimed circus show will come to the beautiful setting of Milntown later this week, with support of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.

The stripy little big top will be home to comedy, aerial acrobatics, fire, balance, juggling and other acts during what organisers describe as a ‘show for all ages’.

Astral Circus will present five one-hour shows on Saturday and Sunday (22nd and 23rd June), as well as 90 minute workshops at 11am on both days.

The workshops will include diablo, juggling, plate spinning and feather balancing and are recommended for children aged five and over.

There will also be outside catering available.

Scarlett Bloom, Events and Marketing Administrator for the historical estate in Lezayre, explained: ‘We are so looking forward to welcoming the Astral Circus team. There really will be something to keep everyone entertained throughout their visit.

‘We are extremely grateful to the Steam Packet Company and it is a further demonstration of its willingness to work with others on the island who are providing a facility to both local people and visitors for the good of the Isle of Man.’

Milntown is run as a visitor attraction by a charitable organisation, with the Trustees putting all income generated back into conserving and maintaining the mansion house and grounds. The Steam Packet Company agreed to help with the transport costs when the Trust approached them.

Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward said: ‘The team at Milntown has carried out tremendous work at the historic estate, making it a popular attraction for locals and another delightful area of the Isle of Man for the many thousands of people we bring to the island every year to explore.

‘We are happy to help bring the circus to town and look forward to what should be a fun weekend for everyone involved.’
