Route information

  • Larne connects to Douglas on the Isle of Man, making up one of two routes from Ireland to Isle of Man.
  • Crossing time is 4 hours, 30 minutes.
  • Our Ben-my-Chree ferry will predominantly serves this route (Manannan & Manxman will serve this route occasionally).
  • Year round service to the Isle of Man.

Check-in & boarding

  • Check-in opens a minimum of 1 hour, 30 minutes prior to sailing departure.
  • Last check-in for car drivers and their passengers is 45 minutes prior to departure.
  • Foot passengers should check-in at the Passenger Terminal. Last check in for foot passengers is 25 minutes prior to departure

Parking

There are two car parks located at the port, with a total of 405 spaces. They are monitored by CCTV and patrolled by security. (Car Park 1: 150 spaces; Car Park 2: 255 spaces). The first 20 minutes are free - 1hr is £0.80, 8hrs £6.40 (max charge £8.00)

Larne Harbour Station is located approximately 2 miles from Larne Town.

The terminal building has a coffee shop offering a variety of snacks, home bakes and souvenirs. 

Transport connections

Transport to Larne Port is accessible by car, train, and bus, with the A8 providing a direct road link to Belfast. The port is also served by Larne Harbour train station, which has regular services from Belfast, and local bus connections

The Northern Ireland Railways network connects to Larne Harbour station (approx less than 5 minute walk from the port to / from the station). There is a direct train to Belfast which takes around an hour from Larne Harbour Station - with trains departing every hour. The cost of the train to Belfast is £11.00.

Train Information

There is a bus service from Larne Town to Larne Port, this has limited frequency with just 2 services daily during the weekdays only. The bus journey takes approximately 6 minutes from Larne Town and costs £1.90 per adult. The bus service is ran by Translink.
