Route information

  • Liverpool connects to Douglas on the Isle of Man, making up one of two routes from England to Isle of Man.
  • Crossing time is 2 hours, 45 minutes on Manannan and 4 hours, 15 minutes on Manxman.
  • Our Manannan ferry serves this route daily during the seasonal service, with Manxman taking over during the winter.
  • Daily seasonal service to the Isle of Man, with weekend sailings during the winter season.

Check-in & boarding

  • Check-in opens at 08:45 for the 11:15 sailing and 16:45 for the 19:15 sailing.
  • Car passengers should check-in at the vehicle booths located at the entrance to the port, which can be accessed via Jesse Hartley Way and then following the road.
  • Last check-in for car drivers and their passengers is 45 minutes prior to departure.
  • Foot passengers should check-in at the Passenger Terminal. Last check in for foot passengers is 25 minutes prior to departure

Parking

Due to space restrictions we are unable to offer our travelling customers long-term car parking facilities at Liverpool port. However, we have teamed up with Q-Park to offer our customers discounted parking when pre-booked online.

The car park located at the main entrance of the terminal is for the collection or drop off of travelling passengers.

Customers visiting the terminal for bookings and enquiries can use the car park at the main entrance of the terminal.

Transport connections

James Street station is the nearest Mersey Rail station, approximately 1.35km from the terminal. Liverpool Lime Street is the closest National Rail train station, approximately 2.3km from the terminal. If you're travelling by bus, there is a regular bus service from the Ferry Terminal via Liverpool ONE bus station (Stand 5).

Located just outside the entrance of the terminal, a bus service, operated by Stagecoach Merseyside, runs directly from the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal to Liverpool ONE bus station. Single adult fares are £2.00 and single child fares are £1.00. Timetables can be found on the Stagecoach website.

Taxis can be pre-booked through various taxi companies around Liverpool Terminal.

Liverpool Lime Street is the closest National Rail train station and is approximately a 30 minute walk from Liverpool Port. Mersey Rail provide train services from Moorfields and James Street to Lime Street. We advise all passengers to visit the National Rail website for the latest timetables.

Left luggage facilities

Passengers can check-in left luggage for a cost of £2.50 per bag.

The left luggage facility is strictly for use on day of travel only. Bags cannot be left overnight or for longer periods of time.

Luggage will only be accepted prior to check-in and will not be accepted once check-in is operational.

All luggage will be security screened and loaded ready for shipment to the Isle of Man. Luggage will not be accessible to passengers after it has been checked-in.
