A terrifying spectacular will unlock the haunted walls of Castle Rushen next month with help from the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.
Nightmare Nights, a scare attraction designed for adults and young people, will make its way to Castletown from 14th – 17th November for the island’s first annual 20-minute fright experience. Those brave enough to enter will meet the Master of the Castle and his creepy court servants in a frightening journey through the 14th century.
For every ticket purchased to the ultimate scare showcase, Nightmare Nights will donate £1 towards the Isle of Man’s purpose-built children’s facility, Rebecca House. The Steam Packet Company is supporting the event by assisting with the cost of return travel for 20 actors and support staff from the UK.
Michelle Stavert, Organiser of Nightmare Nights – Castle Rushen, said: ‘We are so excited to bring Nightmare Nights to Castle Rushen next month. The medieval castle is the perfect eerie setting for the scare experience and I think even the bravest of ticketholders will struggle not to break a sweat.
‘I’d like to extend my thanks to the Steam Packet Company and our other supporters for their generosity. Without their backing it just wouldn’t be possible for the event to go ahead and that would be a real shame.
‘We have sold lots of tickets already, a number of them to people across the water so the event is actually attracting visitors to the Isle of Man which is fantastic. It’s going to be an exciting, interactive experience for everyone while at the same time raise funds for an important island charity - we can’t wait to get started!’
Chief Executive of Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Mark Woodward said: ‘It looks like Nightmare Nights will be a popular seasonal scare event for the island and we are pleased to be named as a commercial partner for its debut. There is lots of time, money and resources being put in to ensure it is an authentic and high-quality experience - I’d encourage anyone brave enough to purchase a ticket!’
Advance tickets can be purchased from https://www.nightmarenights.co.uk/, with prices just £16.00 (plus booking fee). Anyone under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.
