The Isle of Man Heavy Horse Society annual spring show takes place on 13th May, with support from the Steam Packet Company.
Hosted at Knockaloe Mart, Patrick, from 11.30am, the show will include Ridden, Handlers and In Hand classes, with awards given out across a range of categories.
Judging duties will be carried out by Tom Tennant, a knowledgeable and highly respect breeder and judge from Scotland. The Steam Packet Company is supporting the event by covering Mr Tennant’s travel costs.
Isle of Man Heavy Horse Society Secretary Carol Tilley said: ‘We’re looking forward to a very competitive show with plenty of entries. The event is open to the public, with free admission and refreshments available, so we hope plenty of people will come along to enjoy the show.
‘We’re very grateful to the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company for its support, covering the cost of our judge’s travel. Tom is a well-respected figure in the heavy horse world and I’m sure will spread the word about how wonderful the Isle of Man is upon his return to Scotland.
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward added: ‘With all the hard work and dedication put in by the Society and everyone who enters, we’re sure this will be a great event and the judging will be a very tough job. We’re pleased to be able to support the Society and wish them all the best for the annual spring show.’
