Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is apologising to customers following the cancellation of today’s 15:00 Manannan sailing to Liverpool and its 19:15 return.
Manannan experienced a technical issue with its generators on passage to Liverpool this morning, resulting in a return to Douglas in order for maintenance work to be carried out.
Despite the best efforts of the Company’s engineers and workshop teams it has not been possible to rectify the issue in the time available.
Passengers booked to travel on this service are being contacted by the Company’s Reservations Team via text and email in order to arrange alternative sailings, or full refunds, in line with Company’s terms and conditions.
Subject to available capacity passengers will be transferred to alternative Heysham sailings. Foot passengers at Liverpool wishing to sail on the 02:15 departure will be transferred from Liverpool’s Isle of Man Ferry Terminal via free coach.
Passengers on affected sailings can amend bookings free of charge via online accounts, or by contacting our reservations team on 01624 661 661 or 08722 992 992.
Phone lines will remain open until 18:00 this evening. Customers are thanked for their patience and understanding as the Reservations Team and our Terminal staff deal with an increased volume of calls and enquiries.
Further details on what to do when sailings are delayed or cancelled are available on the IOMSPC website here: https://www.steam-packet.com/delays-and-disruptions-advice
IOMSPC engineers and workshop staff will continue to attempt to resolve the generator issue overnight. A final decision on tomorrow’s 07:15 departure will be made by 05:30.
