Positive response to Isle of Man Steam Packet Company survey

20/12/2019

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is thanking those who took time to share their views in a recent survey, after receiving around 8,000 responses.

The survey was launched on Thursday 28th November by Island Global Research, and closed yesterday afternoon (19th December) at 2pm.

Its aim was to identify which on-board facilities and services are considered most important to passengers to help the Company prioritise as it prepares for major investment in its fleet. It was also keen to gain a broader understanding of passengers’ general travel preferences and views about current on-board facilities.

It is intended that the results of the survey will help influence the design of a new purpose-built vessel, which will be commissioned within the next two to three years to replace the services currently provided by conventional ferry, Ben-my-Chree.

Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward said: ‘We have been overwhelmed with the positive response to this survey, with around 8,000 people contributing their views over the past three weeks. Customer feedback is something we value greatly, and I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to share their personal experiences and preferences.

‘While there are many technical considerations that need to be factored in when designing a new vessel, one of our top priorities is ensuring it meets the needs of our passengers and the results of this survey will form an important part of that.

‘We look forward to considering the many different opinions and preferences that the survey reveals and using them, where possible, to fine-tune the design to meet the needs of our customers.’
