Isle of Man Steam Packet Company announces sponsorship of Isle of Man Football Association’s Senior Women’s Team strengthening commitment to local sport

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Isle of Man Football Association’s Senior Women’s Team providing travel support and vital funding to the IOMFA to help inspire and grow grassroots football, develop women’s football, and continue to provide an enjoyable experience for players. The new partnership highlights the Steam Packet’s continued commitment to supporting and championing local sporting teams, as well as other important local initiatives.   

As part of the sponsorship, the Steam Packet will provide travel assistance and funding to the Senior Women’s Team to enable them to travel easily on and off island for matches and training sessions in the UK, and support renewal of facilities and equipment. The Steam Packet’s funding will also go towards bringing opposing teams to the island to compete, further supporting the development of the women's team and giving fans the opportunity to watch a high level of women’s football, as well as stimulate the local visitor economy.  In addition, Steam Packet branding will feature on the Senior Women’s Team’s shirts, as well as at the pitch and IOMFA Headquarters.

Founded in 1890, the Isle of Man Football Association has been a key part of the local community, with its goal of growing participation, promoting diversity and regulating the game for everyone to enjoy.

With Isle of Man Steam Packet Support, the IOMFA hope to continue to be able to develop the women’s game at grassroots level, helping to inspire a new generation of players.
