About the Role:

The Able Seaman is responsible to the Officer of the Watch for;

• Maintaining a proper lookout by sight and hearing, and reporting as such to the OOW.

• The Steering of the ship when required by the OOW, Master or Pilot

• Maintaining regular patrols of the cargo spaces as required 

• General Bridge duties as required by the OOW or Master 

• Any other duties as required.

In Port the Able Seaman is responsible to the Officer of the Watch for;

• The keeping of a fire, security and safety watch - as required 

• The tending of means of access and moorings - as required 

• Assisting with cargo operations as required by the OOW and / or Chief Officer 

Key Competencies:

• STCW certificates 

• Fast Rescue Boat 

•  Must have UK right to work
