The Fourth Engineer is responsible to the Chief Engineer Officer for engineering maintenance and watchkeeping duties.
They must be fully conversant with the safe and efficient operation of ships machinery. firefighting and safety equipment.
The 4th Engineer shall assume responsibility for safe bunkering operations as instructed by the Chief Engineer.
The 4th Engineer must advise the Chief Engineer immediately of any defect which may affect the safety or efficient operation of the ship.
The 4th Engineer is responsible for maintenance of equipment and control of spares and consumables as assigned to them in the C/E’s Standing Orders.
Skills and Qualifications

· STCW, including medical first aid
· Fast rescue boat
· UK right to work
