Supported Sports Scheme Information

Dear applicant,

The company provides a Supported Sports Scheme for locals who travel off island regularly to the UK to compete in their chosen sporting discipline. In order to qualify for the scheme and obtain the discounted rates applicable, those applying must complete six or more return trips from the Isle of Man within the calendar year to events in which they are competing at.

Bookings are administered by Reservations Team. The rates they quote are normally cheaper than the best available public rates, however occasionally, when booking and paying early, there may be special offers and these discounted fares could work out cheaper so it is always of benefit for you to check them out. One word of caution here, special offers booked direct through www.steam-packet.com have more strict terms and conditions, so again please check these out before you commit to paying. Supported Sports rates will not be available during peak travel periods such as the TT period, the Classic TT/MGP and will be limited during busy periods and public holidays.

The Supported Sports Scheme is only available for short trips in which you are travelling to events that you are competing in. The scheme is not available for trips that include holidays or other purposes of travel.

All completed booking forms must be accompanied by proof of entry to the event, provided by the event organiser. Proof of entry may consist of: receipt of entry fee for the event, email correspondence from organisers confirming the named party is entered into the event etc.

Payment for bookings must be received 7 days before departure. It is the responsibility of the member to ensure that payment is made by the due date, otherwise any unpaid bookings will automatically expire from the system. Should your booking expire, you may choose to make a replacement booking, however Supported Sports rates cannot be guaranteed once a booking has expired. They will only be booked at the available rate and on the available sailings.

If making a reservation within 7 days of the departure date, payment will be required at the time of booking, as space cannot be held within our booking system within 7 days of departure. The booking will also only be accepted with proof of entry for the event. Your cooperation in making timely payment would be gratefully appreciated.
