Double Manx Grand Prix winner Nathan Harrison is all set for the 2022 road race season with the support of a long-time sponsor.
Quayside Racing powered by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has been officially launched with the 2019 Manx Grand Prix Junior and Senior champion primed for an action-packed campaign.
Harrison is due to compete in the British Superbikes series this summer, along with the North West 200 in May, the Isle of Man TT and Southern 100, of which the Steam Packet Company is title sponsor.
He kickstarted the season at Silverstone last month with a top-five finish in preparation for the start of the BSB Superstock Championship over Easter weekend where he gained a 17th place – just two places away from his first Championship points.
Nathan said: ‘After a couple of turbulent years I am excited to get back to a full racing calendar with a jam-packed schedule for the remainder of 2022. It’s been an exciting time for us with already having activity at Silverstone and of gearing up for the return of the TT Races.
‘I am really grateful for the ongoing support from the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, which makes competing in the UK and further afield possible. Quayside Racing is really proud to fly the flag for one of the Island’s most recognisable brands, and of course the Isle of Man more widely, in the UK road racing scene.
Steam Packet Company Managing Director Brian Thomson added: ‘As a Company which has always been heavily involved in the motorsport scene and been long-time supporters of the sport in the Island, it has been a pleasure to see a homegrown talent such as Nathan develop into one of the most promising road racers on the circuit.
‘We’ve proudly followed Nathan’s career for many years, having originally started on our Supported Sports Scheme. As we witnessed his continued success, as well as the sheer talent, professionalism and dedication shown by him and the whole team, we were delighted to invite them forward to be one of our Steam Packet Company Champions.
‘We were pleased to help transport the team and equipment between the Isle of Man and UK last year, despite the COVID-19 conditions, and now look forward to being part of the Quayside Racing team at all the major road races this year.'
