The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company can confirm that due to a technical issue which occurred at around 17:30 as the vessel entered Douglas harbour, Ben-my-Chree has been unable to reach its designated berth. 

The scheduled 19:45 sailing to Heysham and 02:15 from Heysham have been cancelled as a result. 

Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward said: ‘Engineers are currently assessing the situation regarding the berthing of the vessel. The Company has also requested the presence of divers.’ 

A further statement will be issued once the full nature and scale of the incident is known.
