Manxman: A look inside the new flagship

As the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company’s new flagship, Manxman makes its way towards its eventual destination of Douglas, the first images of the interior accommodation are being released.

As previously confirmed, Manxman features a range of facilities for passengers, including bar, café and retail areas, as well as a range of lounges with reservable seating.

Deck Seven – Public Areas

Deck seven is the main public area, with the Cornaa Café at the forward end of the vessel. The Café has a relaxed atmosphere, with large picture windows providing customers of the café with impressive views and lots of natural light.

The retail area can be found amidships on deck 7, with a family area and dedicated children’s play area alongside.

Aft on the same deck are the Bar and Eatery. These provide spacious, relaxed, modern areas for travellers to enjoy refreshments.

Deck Eight – Lounges and Cabins

Deck eight will be the choice for travellers looking to get maximum relaxation on their journey to and from the Isle of Man. Again, starting at the forward end, the Niarbyl Lounge offers stunning full length windows giving a panoramic view out across the Irish Sea. The large semi-reclining seats each feature full arm rests and charging ports for mobile devices. All seats in the Niarbyl Lounge can be reserved, the front row are sure to go fast!

Immediately aft of the Niarbyl Lounge can be found the Injebreck Exclusive Lounge. ‘Exclusive’ because only 26 lucky travellers per sailing will be able to reserve one of the fully-reclining pod seats in this secluded and chilled out lounge. To make the experience even more calming, the ambient lighting is attuned to the time of day – ‘stars’ will light the ceiling at night time. Children of 14 years and older are permitted to book into the Injebreck Exclusive Lounge when accompanied by an adult.

At the after end of deck eight passengers will find the Barrule Premium Lounge. With a choice of club-style seating or semi-reclining seats facing out of floor-to-ceiling windows, the Barrule Lounge offers a calm and refined atmosphere for those wanting to take a bit of time to enjoy their journey, or even to get in some work in less distracting surroundings. Children of 8 years and older are permitted to book into the Barrule Premium Lounge when accompanied by an adult.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company’s Executive Club members will see a big improvement in the facilities on offer on Manxman. With a mixture of sofas, armchairs and table seating, as well as a small number of fully reclining sleeping pods.

You will find a range of cabin facilities suitable for all needs on deck 8 of Manxman. There are 40 cabins in total and range in facilities from 4 berth internal cabins to luxurious executive cabins which feature a double bed and walk out balconies.

Accessibility

Manxman has a range of accessible facilities on board, including three wheelchair accessible lifts servicing each passenger deck, increased (6) numbers of accessible cabins & toilet facilities, and an adult changing/toilet area with hoist (deck 7). All public areas on the vessel are designed to be fully wheelchair accessible.

Pet & Family Facilities

Passengers looking to travel with their pets will be catered for with a range of on board pet facilities. There are four pet-friendly cabins on board Manxman, two pet lounges (deck 7) and two sets of purpose-built kennels with CCTV monitoring (deck 6). The two pet lounges are conveniently located at the top of stairways linking to the car decks, kennels and a pet exercising area.
