Testing carried out by Manxman’s builders during routine sea trials revealed a significant problem in the vessel’s systems. Additional work will be required to ensure Manxman is up to the rigorous specification set out by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.

Broadly speaking, the Steam Packet Company supports initiatives to tackle the energy challenges of the 21st Century, which includes the development of offshore wind farms as part of the response. However, it does have concerns about the cumulative effect the numerous Irish Sea wind farm projects could have on the viability of the lifeline routes serving our Island.

The Open Day, which is taking place on Thursday 24th November between 11am and 3pm at Imperial Buildings, the head offices of the Steam Packet Company, looks to attract individuals and students keen to kick-start or progress a career at sea.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company will be releasing its full timetable for 2023 on Monday 31st October. Tickets will be bookable for sailings up to the end of January 2024.
