  • SOUTHERN 100 CLUB TAKES DELIVERY OF NEW GRANDSTAND WITH ISLE OF MAN STEAM PACKET COMPANY ASSISTANCE

    The International Southern 100 Road Races will have a new grandstand in time for this year’s 60th anniversary meeting, with help from long-time sponsor the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.

    Organiser the Southern 100 Club has purchased a 171-seat mobile grandstand which will give fans greater comfort and, as it is covered, protection from the elements. The £70,000 needed to buy the grandstand was raised through donations and from Club funds.

    The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is proud to support three Manx teams hoping to strike gold in the Island Games next month.

    The Company will transport equipment for the football, archery and cycling teams who will represent the Island in Jersey during the event that runs from Saturday, June 27th until Friday, July 3rd.

  • BOOKINGS TO OPEN FOR 2016 TT SAILINGS WITH THE ISLE OF MAN STEAM PACKET COMPANY

    With one of the busiest TT festivals of recent years less than a fortnight away, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company can confirm provisional bookings for 2016 sailings will open on Monday, 1st June, at 8.30am.

    More than 13,500 motorcycles are currently booked to travel to the Island for this year’s TT, an increase of 10% on 2014, and demand for 2016 is expected to be just as high.

    The Steam Packet Company has helped a charity walker who paid a visit to the Isle of Man as he treks around the coast of Britain to raise funds for the RNLI.

    Alex Ellis-Roswell spent 10 days walking the Raad ny Foillan and visiting the Island’s lifeboat stations, meeting volunteers and raising money.

  • DREDGING CONTINUES ON APPROACH TO HEYSHAM PORT

    The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has been assured tidal and silting issues at Heysham Port, which have led to several sailings being rescheduled this week, will soon be resolved.

    Peel Ports, which owns Heysham Port and is responsible for maintaining approach channels for all customers, has conducted several weeks of dredging with the vessel Albatross to restore the minimum low tide water depth required to access berths.
