Ministry of Science Live sets sail to the Isle of Man this summer

7/4/2022

VillaGaiety is welcoming back family-favourite ‘Ministry of Science Live’ to its stage this summer, with support from the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.

Featuring a spectacular show of fire, explosions, bizarre reactions and mind-boggling scientific experiments, Ministry of Science Live is guaranteed to bring out the inner scientist in everyone. There will be two live performances at the Gaiety Theatre on Saturday 2nd July: a matinee at 1pm and an early evening show at 5pm.

Created by the team responsible for live shows such as Brainiac Live, this new production looks at the inventors and engineers who have shaped and inspired the modern world that we live in. Local audiences will be treated to a series of performances featuring liquid nitrogen frozen flowers, hydrogen bottle rockets and an on-stage hovercraft.

The Steam Packet Company is pleased to be partnering up with VillaGaiety to help bring the extraordinary science show to the Isle of Man.

Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Managing Director Brian Thomson said: ‘We are pleased to partner with VillaGaiety to bring the Ministry of Science Live performance to Manx shores. The show will be both educational and entertaining in equal measure, and I’ve no doubt the Gaiety Theatre audiences will enjoy the performance.

‘As a company that relies on a highly trained core of engineers and technicians, STEM education is something that is close to our hearts. It’s great to be able to support events like this coming to the Island and I hope this fun-filled show will inspire some of the scientists and engineers of the future.’

Sean Kenny, Events and Programming Development Manager for VillaGaiety, which forms part of the Culture Division of the Department of Education, Sport, and Culture, added: ‘We’re delighted to have the Ministry of Science Live show return to the Gaiety Theatre this summer, thanks to the support of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. This is a really engaging show all about the wonders of science which will provide a fun, educational and interactive experience for children and adults alike!’

The performances will take place at the Gaiety Theatre and are suitable for ages six and above. Tickets are available to purchase online at www.villagaiety.com, via the VillaGaiety’s ticket hotline on (01624) 600555 or in person at the Isle of Man Welcome Centre or Villa Marina reception.
