VillaGaiety is ready and raring to welcome the family-favourite ‘roar-some crew’ to its stage next spring, with support from the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.
Zog and the Flying Doctors, based on the bestselling sequel by Julia Donaldson and Axel Sceffler, is set to crash-bang-thump into Douglas and delight young local audiences across five scheduled performances; Friday 29th April at 4.30pm, Saturday 30th April at 11am and 2pm, and Sunday 1st May at 11am and 2pm.
Produced by Freckle Productions and Rose Theatre, super keen student turned air-ambulance - Zog - together with his Flying Doctor crew, Princess Pearl and Sir Gadabout, tend to a sunburnt mermaid, a unicorn with one too many horns and a lion with the flu. However, Pearl’s uncle, the King, has other ideas about whether princesses should be doctors, and she’s soon locked up in the castle back in a crown and a silly frilly dress!
With a bit of help from some friends and half a pound of cheese, can Pearl make her uncle better and prove princesses can be doctors too?
The Steam Packet Company is pleased to be partnering up with VillaGaiety to help bring Zog and his friends to the Isle of Man for this brand new adventure.

‘Immersing ourselves in storytelling is not only important for wellbeing and enjoyment, but it is proven to help support literacy and reading in children. Zog and the Flying Doctors as a story also shows us that girls don’t have to be princesses and can achieve great things, a very important message for all generations.’
The performances will take place at the Gaiety Theatre and are most suitable for ages three and above, but all ages are welcome.
