The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company’s Heysham Passenger Terminal has undergone an exciting new refurbishment, just in time for the opening of the Manx borders.
A new floor and ceiling have been installed throughout the terminal building, in addition to a full renovation of the walls complete with bright, colourful paintings. The café area has benefited from a revamp, with new comfortable seating throughout, decorative plants, a new air conditioning system, and vending machine facilities. The check-in area has also had a makeover.
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward said: ‘A renovation of the passenger terminal has been on the radar for some time now and we are really pleased with the results. The improvements will greatly enhance the passenger experience, making it much more comfortable for those waiting to board.
‘The timing is great too, just ahead of the borders opening and at a time we expect to see many more passengers passing through – both Island residents heading for a much-needed break and visitors to the Isle of Man.’
