Extra sailings to bring freight to Island

14/3/2019

Extra freight capacity is being provided by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company over the next 24 hours.

The freighter MV Arrow will run a return trip between the Isle of Man and Heysham to ensure goods are brought to the island after poor weather earlier this week led to the cancellation of a number of sailings.

Chief Executive Mark Woodward explained: ‘We have, of course, been in close contact with our freight customers over the last few days.

‘The MV Arrow provides ideal back-up capability and an extra degree of support which will allow us to catch up on bringing freight across to the island following the recent disruption to our services.’
