RECORD ON-BOARD COLLECTION FOR MGP HELICOPTER FUND

19/1/2012

Steam Packet Company passengers have raised a fantastic £6,389.87 for the Manx Grand Prix Helicopter Fund.

It’s believed to be the highest total raised during the many years the collection, carried out by crew members from Ben-my-Chree and Manannan, has taken place for the Helicopter Fund.

Bob Taylor, Chairman of the MGP Supporters’ Club which administers the Fund, said: ‘The MGP Helicopter Fund relies totally on donations and we are extremely grateful to the crews of both vessels for organising the collection – and, of course, to the travelling public for their incredible generosity.’

IOM Steam Packet Company Sales Development Manager Brian Convery paid tribute to crew members of both vessels. ‘The staff always look forward to helping with the collections and even in periods of financial hardship the travelling public have been fantastic in helping to raise a record amount,’ said Brian.
