Revised sailing schedule following this morning's incident involving Viking

1/8/2008

Following the incident shortly after departure from Liverpool Landing Stage this morning, Viking will be withdrawn from service for between 24 and 48 hours.

Passengers from this morning's cancelled Viking sailing were transferred to either this afternoon's 14.15 Heysham-Isle of Man sailing or tomorrow morning's 02.15 Heysham-Isle of Man service, both operated by the Ben-my-Chree.

Saturday sailings to Liverpool and Heysham will operate as scheduled, although all fast craft sailings will be undertaken by Snaefell, which has less capacity than Viking. Therefore, to accommodate all booked passengers, some passengers will have to be transferred from the Liverpool services to the Heysham services.
However, Saturday's 10.00 sailing to Belfast and the 14.00 return have been cancelled. We are in the process of contacting passengers on those sailings to offer them alternative services.

Depending on the program of repairs to Viking, it is hoped that all Sunday services will operate as scheduled. However, this will be reviewed on Saturday afternoon and a further update issued at that time.
