Hospice Bubble Rush returns to Island with support from Isle of Man Steam Packet Company

Hospice Isle of Man is bringing Bubble Rush back to the island for the second-year running, with support from the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.

The colourful fun run with a difference will return to Mooragh Park, Ramsey, on Sunday 1st July, with the ocean of bright bubbles making an appearance from 12pm.

The 1.5km family-friendly course is open to everyone, with those in wheelchairs and pushchairs more than welcome to join in the fun. The four bubble stations positioned along the route will pump out multi-coloured foam reaching heights of up to 4ft and allow participants to complete the course as many times as they like before 2pm.

The Steam Packet Company is supporting the event by assisting with the cost of travel for the UK-based adventure company, which is providing Hospice with the necessary equipment to run Bubble Rush 2018.

Anne Mills, CEO at Hospice Isle of Man, said: ‘Bubble Rush is back and this year we plan to make it bigger, better and bubblier than ever! It’s hard to explain the rush you feel running through a sea of colourful bubbles with your friends and family – it definitely gets the endorphins going and I would encourage anyone, regardless of age, to get involved!

‘Hospice Isle of Man is so important to the island’s community and it’s vital we do what we can to raise the much-needed funds that enable us to provide specialist palliative care and end of life care for our patients and their families. Events like Bubble Rush are vital to our fundraising efforts and I hope to see lots of new faces enjoying the bubbles at this year’s event.

‘I would like to say a huge thank you to the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and our other supporters, Microgaming and 3FM, as without their backing it just wouldn’t be possible to host such a large-scale event – we really are grateful.’

Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward said: ‘We are delighted to support Hospice Isle of Man and this wonderful fun run once again. I hope it raises lots of money for the charity, which provides specialist care and support for patients and families on the island at a very difficult time. I’m sure it will have a great turnout and wish the organisers the best of luck!’
