The ‘Ramsey Rocket’ Conor Cummins and the Padgett’s Honda Racing team are raring to go ahead of the opening race day of TT 2019.
Once again, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is backing Padgett’s during the island’s road racing season with support at both the TT and Classic TT later in the year.
Conor and Davey Todd, fresh from success at the recent North West 200, will be further strengthened this summer by a third team-mate in 23-time TT winner John McGuinness who will compete for the Batley-based squad in next week’s two Supersport races.
The Honda Racing team features the Steam Packet Company logo on all its bikes and race leathers and Ramsey man Conor has thanked them for the ongoing sponsorship.
He said: ‘The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has been very supportive of both myself and the Padgett’s team and that makes such a difference as it allows us to concentrate on the racing.
‘I feel really good about this year. I am realistic as I know the pace will be ridiculous, but I have to make sure I leave nothing out on the track. I can’t wait to get out around the TT course and will obviously give it my all.’
The 33-year-old Manxman – who achieved podiums in the Superbike and Senior TT last year and set his fastest ever lap of the TT Mountain Course at 132.589mph - is again competing in all three main classes - the Superbike, Superstock and Supersport races.
Team boss Clive Padgett added: ‘Our association with the Steam Packet Company is first-class. The Company gives so much back to the community and its ongoing support of our team is a partnership we truly value.
‘Our line-up of riders is a very exciting one and Conor is a totally laidback Manxman and so relaxed. Not only is he an integral part of our team but he is great to have around and, along with Davey and John, we are really looking forward to another TT week in the Isle of Man.’
