Nickelodeon Land is brand new at the Pleasure Beach, featuring everyone’s favourite characters in a six-acre site loaded with 12 fantastic rides to thrill and entertain. Meet Spongebob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer, Rugrats and more with plenty of splashing good fun, places to explore and a brand new thrill ride - Avatar Airbender - where riders set off on an amazing adventure, spinning and soaring through the air on a huge rotating disk travelling along a giant curved track!
Merlin have waved their magic wand too and revamped Blackpool’s waxworks. That means Blackpool is now the ONLY place in the UK outside London where your family can come face-to-face with brilliant likenesses of all your favourite stars of sport, stage and screen at Madame Tussauds.
There’s also great plans for the world famous Tower. Look out later this year for the grisly new Tower Dungeon and newly refurbished observation deck - the Blackpool Tower Eye - for the best view in town.
The work along the seafront has created beautiful Spanish Steps, linking the promenade to the beach, as well as huge new headland spaces including the Tower Festival Headland. Nestling right beneath the Tower, this brand new multi-events space will have a capacity of 20,000 and host exciting events at the heart of the resort from September 2011, coinciding with the opening of new Blackpool Tower’s new attractions. It’ll also be home to the new ‘Comedy Carpet’ featuring jokes, songs and comedy catchphrases from Britain’s best-loved comedians, as well as a low-carbon wedding venue with breathtaking views across the beach and sea.
Hire one of our fleet of bikes and cycle along the prom to the Sandcastle Waterpark, where they’re gearing up for the arrival of the Aztec Temple - with two high-energy waterslides. Aztec Falls is a high energy tube slide where riders whoosh through a steep dark chute before entering an enclosed bowl and exiting via a corkscrew descent – not for the faint hearted! Montazooma is a mat slide chasing through the surrounding jungle, allowing a single rider to plummet head first down 360 degree loops and thrilling back to back turns – the race is on!

PARKS

Recently restored Stanley Park is the jewel in Blackpool’s dazzling crown. Just two miles from the bustling sea front, this majestic 256-acre park is a green oasis.
A dazzling array of display gardens, ornate fountains and woodlands await discovery and there’s even a boating lake and sports facilities, including tennis, football and cricket. While away a day with a picnic and some games or pop into the Art Deco café for a cuppa, or a cappuccino.
Nestled nearby is a wonderful world in miniature. The must-see Model Village is set in 2.5 acres of carefully tended and landscaped gardens.
George Bancroft Park is part of a dramatic new entrance to Blackpool from the M55 – with the centrepiece of two huge climbing towers. Opened in May 2006, by design guru Laurence Llewelyn -Bowen, the park is the town’s newest, and the first to be constructed in over 80 years!

NIGHTLIFE

From the bright lights of a Vegas-style cabaret dinner show or swing night at the Sands venue; a musical, comedy, play or contemporary dance spectacle at the glorious Grand Theatre; or a top comedian at the Opera House - there’s something for everyone. Blackpool is also the world’s home of ballroom dancing – with numerous shows and events – and a whole host of concerts and gigs in its spectacular venues.
Of course, there’s also the magical Blackpool Illuminations, which light up the resort for 66 nights – beginning with the star-studded Switch On show in early September. The identity of the star who’ll flick the switch is always a closely guarded secret – but you can guarantee a huge celebrity bash featuring the UK’s top pop talent.

Step into the splendour of the newly restored Grade II listed Winter Gardens. Enter a world of Victorian glamour with a stroll along the stunning Floral Hall.  Enjoy a coffee break in the Mazzei coffee shop whilst you marvel at newly rediscovered plasterwork by renowned film set designer Andrew Mazzei; or stay for a meal and revel in the art deco designs and glasswork from your seat the glamorous Empress Grill. First-class North West restauranters Heathcoates are in charge of both new eateries in the Winter Gardens – guaranteeing you a fabulous dining experience.  Gorgeous! Get on your bike, an easy, green way to explore the resort – and keep healthy too! Blackpool is one of the UK’s cycling towns, and has a fleet of bikes, available to hire from automated hubs.

Stanley Park Golf Course is an 18 hole pay and play course designed by renowned golf course designer Dr. Alister Mackenzie, who also designed Augusta National, home of the US Masters. The golf course covers an area of 101 acres, and is 6048 yards long offering a challenge for both new and experienced golfers alike. The Club provide a welcoming and relaxing environment for you to enjoy a drink or meal after your round.
