Forecast gales for Thursday and Friday may disrupt Isle of Man Steam Packet Company services.

The current weather forecast indicates a risk of a north westerly gale 8 to severe gale 9 on both days. This could cause disruption or cancellation of Viking’s sailings to and from Liverpool, Belfast and Dublin.

The 19.45 Ben-my-Chree sailing to Heysham on Thursday and the 02.15 return service on Friday may also be disrupted or cancelled.

Commercial Director John Watt explained: ‘At this stage, the forecast is for severe weather conditions in the Irish Sea later this week. We will continue to monitor the situation ahead of making a decision nearer the time and will keep the public informed via the media and our website.’
