The number of bikes booked to travel to the Island has increased by 5.7 per cent to more than 9,050, compared to around 8,550 last year. Overall passenger bookings show an increase of 2 per cent.

With effect from 1st June 2009, the surcharge for new bookings will reduce from £5.00 single per passenger to £3.50 and the surcharge on freight will be reduced by 53 pence from £5 per metre to £4.47 per metre. This follows the £3 reduction to the freight fuel surcharge in the last review on 1st March 2009.

Two Isle of Man Steam Packet Company crew members have been praised for their bravery and quick thinking by the ship's Captain after they launched a sucessful rescue mission to recover a young man from the river mersey.

In light of the difficulties being experienced by air passengers following the announcement that Isle of Man-based EuroManx has ceased operations, Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is advising those who are unable to source alternative air travel that it has excress capacity on its twice daily return services to Liverpool and Heysham.

The return to service of Snaefell for Monday's 7.30am sailing to Liverpool will see the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's re-branded fleet back at full strength.
EXPECTED SAILING DISRUPTIONS 6th May 2008
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company anticipates that certain sailings over the next eight days may be affected by restricted water depths at the entrance to Heysham Port and prevailing tidal conditions. The Port of Heysham is becoming increasingly subject to tidal restrictions, and the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is working closely with Mersey Docks and Harbour Company (owners of the Port of Heysham) in an effort to improve the situation.
BBC RADIO CUMBRIA TO BROADCAST FROM VIKING

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has given permission to BBC Radio Cumbria to broadcast from the Viking this morning as they travel to the Island, and during their return journey on 6 May.
