"We welcome the Select Committee's Report and listened with interest to the debate in Tynwald.  The Company will, of course, be looking closely at the Report and its recommendations, as well as comments made by Members of Tynwald during the debate.

STATEMENT FOLLOWING TYNWALD SELECT COMMITTEE REPORT

The User Agreement, approved by Tynwald, has proved highly successful for the Isle of Man.  The stability which the User Agreement has provided has enabled the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company to invest with confidence, leading to enormous improvements in services since its introduction.

VIKING INCIDENT IN LIVERPOOL

Shortly after departing the berth for its scheduled 11.15 sailing from Liverpool, Fast Craft Viking was caught by a squall of wind which pushed her back against the pontoon for loading vehicles.  This resulted in some damage to the port side shell plating.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company anticipates that certain sailings over the next eight days may be affected by restricted water depths at the entrance to Heysham Port and prevailing tidal conditions.  The Port of Heysham is becoming increasingly subject to tidal restrictions, and the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is working closely with Mersey Docks and Harbour Company (owners of the Port of Heysham) in an effort to improve the situation.

The Steam Packet Company Announces Ben-My-Chree Sailing To Liverpool - Twelve Quays

The Steam Packet Company is to operate a Saturday and Sunday morning sailing to Liverpool on the weekend of 3rd/4th March using the MV Ben-My-Chree.  The Ben-My-Chree will be berthing at Twelve Quays terminal in Birkenhead directly opposite our usual terminal at Pier Head.  The sailings will depart from Douglas at 0800 Hrs arriving at 1215 HRS.  The return journey will depart Liverpool at 1400 HRS and arrive back in Douglas at 1815 Hrs.
